If you enjoy the idea of learning the guitar and you visualize yourself sitting down and playing your favorite songs for your own enjoyment, acoustic guitar tabs give you the possibility of realizing your dream. You can pick up an acoustic guitar any time of the day or night and play without disturbing your family or neighbors. Some people even play the acoustic guitar while the family is watching TV in the same room! Tablature, or tab, is the ideal way for any beginner guitar player to learn or for a more seasoned guitarist to learn new material quickly. A basic definition of guitar tab is a diagram showing the guitar strings with the frets where the guitarist is to play the notes indicated by numbers. Quite often a guitarist approaching a new piece of music will struggle with conventional music notation whereas tab is a quick and easy way of getting the feel of a new piece. Also a pianist or other musician can look at a piece of guitar sheet music and play it right away but would have no hope of playing from guitar tab because it is only written for one instrument. Another limitation of guitar tab is that you won’t be able to learn the rhythm from it. You will need a strumming pattern diagram or, having heard the song before, have some idea of how to approach the playing of the rhythm. If you are prepared to live with these limitations tablature will be a great tool for you to learn your favorite songs quickly. When you search the internet for acoustic guitar tab what kind of music can you expect to find? Well, the variety is astonishing. Basically acoustic guitar tab is written with the idea of the guitar supplying the basic accompaniment for the song. So if you are a singer wanting to interpret the lyrics, your interest in the guitar arrangement may be slight. The second thing acoustic guitar tab usually gives you is the notes for any distinctive melody or riff in the song – music that people recognize before they hear the words being sung. A simple example of this is the few notes repeated throughout the record of “Something” by The Beatles. Of course you are quite free to leave out or change any music to make the arrangement your own. Acoustic guitar tabs are often fingerstyle arrangements of songs. These arrangements will not be readily available in music stores or the usual sources of sheet music on the internet. Fingerstyle arrangements can give you some added depth to your guitar playing even if you don’t utilize all the techniques shown in the tab. Finally there is one advantage to using acoustic tab for electric guitar players. You can learn the muisc for the song without having to set up your guitar and amp. You can work on arranging your song for electric guitar once you know the chords and the basic structure. I hope I have given you something to think about if you have not given tabs for acoustic guitar much of a look so far. If you look around you will be quite amazed at the range of popular – and obscure – music available.

The history of Ovation Guitars is unique because its founder, Charles Kaman, was actually an aeronautical engineer designing rotor blades for helicopters. It was this experience that caused him to contemplate standard guitar structure and eventually lead to the development of the round-backed composite body. Traditional guitars have wooden backs and sides, so this feature differentiates Ovation Guitars from the competition. This revolutionary move came about in the 1960s.
Kaman was unique because he was both an engineer and a guitar player. He not only understand the instrument from the perspective of a player, but also his observations related to helicopter blades and materials and how they related to the guitar caused these innovations. So, he approached what he perceived as standard guitar design problems from an engineers perspective- to define the problem and find solutions. To him, guitars and helicopters were related because in helicopters, you want to remove vibrations but with guitars, you want to keep the vibrations in to generate the sound.
Ovation has a long tradition of using modern materials in standard guitar design. For the most part, guitar design has remained relatively unchanged since the 1800s. Kaman wanted to develop a guitar that transcended and improved upon that tradition. His die hard fans believe he succeeded. Starting in 1966, Ovation released a line of guitars at a pretty standard rate, starting with the Balladeer.
Now, Ovation boasts a complete line of acoustic guitars, most of which include the Ovation standard and unique design features. These include the LX Series, the Celebrity, the Celebrity Deluxe, the Elite, the Legend, the Custom Elite, and others. You can also find vintage models through shops and on the internet.
There are plenty of artists who love the unique qualities of Ovation guitars. These include Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue, Al DiMeola, an accomplished solo player, Godsmack, Melissa Ethridge, Blasko from Rob Zombie, Rex Brown, who performs with Pantera and others, and Vince Neil with Motley Crue. There are actually a lot more artist that use Ovation Guitars. If you want more information you should visit Ovations web site.
Here is what one person has to say about their Ovation guitar:
About the Ovation Magnum 3
This bass puts out a beautiful tone. When I mix the two pickups just right it s either a low growl or a crunchy bite. Put together they sound just great. The output can be a bit lower than I am accustomed to, but easily overcome with a decent amp.

Playing the guitar is every boy’s dream even if they can’t be good at it. In high school, it is very rare that boys will not even attempt to learn to play the guitar. For this reason, music schools are about dime-a-dozen. In every city, you will also find freelance teachers who will show young people several acoustic guitar lessons. Although it may be said that only a few actually persevere to learn how to play the guitar, there is no shortage of good guitar players around the world. Perhaps guitar playing is more popular because guitars are cheaper than the piano. And in the world of rock and roll culture, guitar looks manlier than other musical instruments. People want to identify with rock gods so guitar playing is almost inevitably where they go. So what are the first acoustic guitar lessons? Perhaps there are many. One will be taught to identify the parts of the guitar like the body, the neck, and so on. One will also be taught how to string a guitar properly and tune it, too. Ultimately, the learner will be taught how to read guitar chords by himself. This is the only way one can learn how to play the guitar. Once a student is already efficient in reading guitar chords from chord books, he can then move on to practicing and playing by himself. Keep in mind that there are beginner guitar chords to let the student get used to the feel of the strings. This is painful at first and should be mastered before moving to the power chords. Reading guitar chords will not be possible without guitar diagrams. There are different families of chords that one should know, too, other than the fact that there is a correct position of every finger for every chord. One should also understand what a fret is, what the dots are for, how to count frets in the neck, and so on. Guitar diagrams are shown in squares with lines that represent the guitar frets and the strings. The bottom line is the first string, the thinnest one, and as you move up, the lines represent the strings up to the base. This is why guitar chord diagrams have six lines. This represents the six strings of the ordinary guitar. The dot shows where the string should be pressed. If you will carefully observe, here are numbers on top of every black dot. The number represents the finger that will press the string on the position of the fret from the head of the guitar neck. If the number says three on the fourth fret and the dot is on the third line, this means you have to press the third string on the fourth fret with your third finger. To count, your forefinger is the first number; the middle finger is number two, and so on. One you are done with your first set of acoustic guitar lessons and once you are efficient in reading guitar chords, this is the time you will be able to play as much songs as you want from music books. All you need to do is to look up the chord, press it, memorize it, and make sure it sounds right with the tune you are playing. Soon, you will find yourself playing without the help of a chord book at all.
